GEORGE BALL has appeared on and off Broadway in JACQUES BREL IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN PARIS. He also starred in the San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, and Dutch productions of said musical. He starred in the pre-Broadway production of the new musical, COWBOY, in New York. He played the irascible sheriff Ed Earle Dodd in the Pittsburgh C.L.O. and San Jose C.L.O. productions of BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS and the leading role of Ben Rumson in the Good Speed Opera House revival of PAINT YOUR WAGON. His other stage credits include leads in BRECHT,SACRED AND PROFANE, at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles, VINCENT at the Las Palmas Theatre in Los Angeles, and MERRY-GO-ROUND at the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles. He originated the role of Steve, the husband in the musical HEARTBEATS at the Old Globe Theater in San Diego, and has also starred in HEARTBEATS productions at the Pasadena Playhouse, Sacramento Music Circus, and the Morris Mechanic Theater in Baltimore. He originated the role of Man One in HARRY CHAPIN, LIES AND LEGENDS at the Apollo Theatre in Chicago, and won both the Dramalogue and L. A. Drama Critics Circle Awards for his recreation of that role at the Pasadena Playhouse and the Canon Theatre in Los Angeles. His stock credits include leading roles in CAMELOT, MAN OF LA MANCHA, OLIVER,BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE and I DO, I DO. He has appeared on television in CHEERS, GENERAL HOSPITAL, THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS and HONEY I SHRUNK THE KIDS. Most recently, he has made several appearances as Peter Lund, the singing president of CBS on the David Letterman Show. He has also recently completed his eighth national tour of A BROADWAY CELEBRATION, a staged theatrical concert of the best of Broadway, which he co-created. Additional recent credits include "DAMN YANKEES" at the Sacramento Music Circus and Tony in "MOST HAPPY FELLA"for the Reprise Series at UCLA's Freud Theater He co-starred with wife, AMANDA MCBROOM in the Gold Coast Plays production of Sondheim's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC ,played the role of John Hancock in 1776 for the Santa Barbara CLO, and most recently starred in the title role of SWEENEY TODD for Gold Coast Plays which was named one of the 10 best theatrical events of the year 2000 by the LA Times and for which he also won a Robby Award as best actor in a musical.
